What's New in ProVal 3.19

Alternatives:

  • Install version 3.19 using a Microsoft Installer package (.msi). Generally used by IT professionals. Does not install any pre-requisites such as Microsoft Redistributables or Sentinel drivers.Download ProVal 3.19.msi
  • (Experts only) Update an existing 3.19 installation by replacing the files in the ProVal program folder with those contained in updt319.zip. Requires running ProVal once using "Run as Administrator". May also require managing files in the Virtual Store Folder. Download updt319.zip

Grid Agent Installation

Version: 3.18, 11/01/2022 (Compatible with ProVal 3.19) | Size: 4.4 MB | Filename: wintechgridagentsetup.exe | License: Paid subscription (separate from ProVal)

Use: Install on computers designated to be part of the Grid Platform. Typically these are not the same computers where ProVal is installed. Note, you must run this installer as an administrator.

Regulatory Data Update

Date: 11/2/2023 | Size: 8.0 KB | Filename: regdata.zip

Use: Download the latest regulatory data for prior versions of ProVal. Not needed for the most recent version of ProVal, which already includes the latest regulatory data (recommended).

      1. Click Download Regulatory Data (above).
      2. Exit ProVal. All users must exit for a network installation.
      3. Unzip regdata.zip into the ProVal program folder, replacing existing files. For network installations, the ProVal program folder is typically on a network server and not a user's workstation

IRS 2024 Mortality Template

Use: Access IRS 2024 Mortality tables.

  1. Click Download Mortality Template (above) and unzip it into a new folder.
  2. From within other ProVal clients where the tables are desired, go to the Mortality Rates library and click the Import button.
  3. Specify the folder where you unzipped the template client, add the desired mortality rate table(s), and click Import.

This template includes:

  1. IRS 2024 Adjusted Scale MP-2021.
  2. IRS 2024 Generational Mortality. The 2024 Adjusted Scale MP-2021 applied to the base rates developed from PRI-2012.
  3. IRS 2024 Small Plan Combined Static Mortality. The static table to be optionally used for small plans with plan years beginning during 2024.
  4. IRS 2024 Small Plan Combined Static Mortality, 0 Pre-Comm. IRS 2024 Small Plan Combined Static Mortality with rates of 0 pre-commencement.
  5. IRS 2024 Applicable Mortality Table for 417(e). The static table to be used for 417(e) for plan years beginning during 2024.
  6. IRS 2024 Applicable Mortality Table for 417(e) , 0 Pre-Comm. IRS 2024 Applicable Mortality for 417(e) with rates of 0 pre-commencement.

Pub-2010 Mortality Tables Template with SOA Scale MP-2019

Use: Access SOA Pub-2010 mortality tables and SOA Scale MP-2019.

      1. Click Download Mortality Template (above) and unzip it into a new folder.
      2. From within other ProVal clients where the tables are desired, go to the Mortality Rates or the Mortality Improvement Scales library and click the Import button.
      3. Specify the folder where you unzipped the template client, add the desired table(s), and click Import.

This template includes:

      1. SOA Scale MP-2019. As with Scales MP-2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, MP-2019 has been extended for years prior to 1951 as suggested in Section 8.3 of the Mortality Improvement Scale MP- 2014 Report, though the rates of 2% and 3% for males and females, respectively, were not included in the published version of MP-2019.
      2. Pub-2010 Teachers (separately for Employees, Retirees, Contingent Survivors, Disabled Retirees)
      3. Pub-2010 Safety (separately for Employees, Retirees, Contingent Survivors, Disabled Retirees)
      4. Pub-2010 General (separately for Employees, Retirees, Contingent Survivors, Disabled Retirees)

Each of the mortality tables is available as either Amount-Weighted or Headcount Weighted.
PLEASE NOTE: Where the mortality tables provided in each study were incomplete, the following assumptions were made:

      1. The juvenile table was used for ages 15-17
      2. For the Retiree, Contingent Survivor, and Disabled mortality tables, the corresponding Employee mortality was used beginning at age 18 and ending with the last age for which inactive mortality was unavailable.
      3. For the Employee mortality tables, the corresponding Healthy Retiree mortality was used beginning at age 81.
