Career Opportunities

Winklevoss Technologies provides cutting edge technology for the design, valuation, projection and administration of all types of pension and other retirement benefit plans. The firm was founded in 1994 and currently consists of approximately 30 professionals at two CT locations: Greenwich and Milford. Our products are used by hundreds of firms with thousands of users across North America, Europe and Asia.

Our product line consists of:

  • ProVal, a valuation and forecasting system for actuaries and asset consultants
  • ProVal PS, a desktop toolkit for plan sponsors
  • ProAdmin, a suite of defined benefit administration tools for third party administrators, plan sponsors, and actuarial firms
  • SimMetric, a forecasting tool for foundations and endowments to facilitate investment and spending policy analysis.

Defined Benefit Administration Programmer

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our ProAdmin programming team.

Being a programmer at WinTech is unique, as you will not be pigeonholed into one role or job activity. Typically, you will serve as subject matter expert, interface designer, programmer, and documenter - all in one. You will work independently, or occasionally in small teams, adding new features and making changes to existing ones. You will always have the support of other experienced programmers to assist you on your project or help you while you master the programming language.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Design and program ProAdmin enhancements based on user requests and changes in the regulatory and technological environment
  • Product testing, documentation, support and training

Job requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics or a related major
  • Have created and run benefit calculation spreadsheets/programs for 6-10 years
  • Substantial and contemporary knowledge of current US defined benefit administration rules, regulations and calculations
  • Ability to interpret plan documents
  • Strong communication skills
  • An eye for details
  • Must enjoy being hands on, solving difficult problems, and using math and logic skills
  • ProAdmin or ProVal experience a plus
  • Actuarial credentials a plus
  • No programming experience required

Actuarial Software Designer & Programmer

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our ProVal programming team. Currently, we are enhancing ProVal to be used in various European countries. We have a specific need for an actuary with experience completing funding valuations in Europe (specifically Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and the U.K).

WinTech programmers are unique - they are actuaries, interface designers, programmers, and documenters all in one. We do not have the communication headaches associated with separate subject matter experts (i.e., actuaries), specifications writers, and programmers. To maintain a consistent feel to our products, we share ideas and critique each others' projects. The more outgoing programmers also answer support calls, conduct training sessions, and present topics at our annual Users Group Meetings.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Designing ProVal enhancements based on user requests
  • Implementing your designs
  • Testing your code
  • Staying with projects to the end (e.g., putting in the final 80% effort to finish the last 20%)
  • Pursuing your own interests that add value to the company, such as presentations at the Users Group Meetings, marketing support, new product ideas, and on and on

Job requirements include:

  • At least four years experience as a defined benefit actuarial consultant (actuarial exam student or ASA/FSA designation a plus)
  • Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics or related major
  • Proven winner who has distinguished themselves among their peers
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • ProVal experience preferred
  • No programming experience required
  • Experience performing valuations in any European locale a plus
