Actuarial Software Designer & Programmer
|
|
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our ProVal programming team.
Currently, we are enhancing ProVal to be used in various European countries. We
have a specific need for an actuary with experience completing funding
valuations in Europe (specifically Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and the U.K).
WinTech programmers are unique - they are actuaries, interface designers,
programmers, and documenters all in one. We do not have the communication
headaches associated with separate subject matter experts (i.e., actuaries),
specifications writers, and programmers. To maintain a consistent feel to our
products, we share ideas and critique each others' projects. The more outgoing
programmers also answer support calls, conduct training sessions, and present
topics at our annual Users Group Meetings.
Job responsibilities include:
-
Designing ProVal enhancements based on user requests
-
Implementing your designs
-
Testing your code
-
Staying with projects to the end (e.g., putting in the final 80% effort to
finish the last 20%)
-
Pursuing your own interests that add value to the company, such as
presentations at the Users Group Meetings, marketing support, new product
ideas, and on and on
Job requirements include:
-
At least four years experience as a defined benefit actuarial consultant
(actuarial exam student or ASA/FSA designation a plus)
-
Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics or related major
-
Proven winner who has distinguished themselves among their peers
-
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
-
ProVal experience preferred
-
No programming experience required
-
Experience performing valuations in any European locale a plus
